Pac-Man Revolution

Pac-Man Revolution
by Leonardo Pierro

As a young apprentice I was captured by Alberto Burri's jute sack, by its symbolic value, his poetry. By transcending this commodity container of humble and modest fabric, it is possible to rediscover the richness of a new conceptual meaning: the jute support is sewn and colored in pixels, maintaining the product traceability codes, a symbol of globalization, to return them in the new congenial form. This theme wants to transform these waste materials into new expressive codes, giving a new shape and a new existence to recycled containers. The pictorial sign in pixels requires a distancing from the object in order to be able to grasp the whole, emancipating oneself from the mere contemplative aspect with an alternative, conceptual awareness. These installations can be set in social and / or site specific sculptures, in order to evoke new immersive visual experiences. This production reminds us of the childhood of art history, which shows the subjects of modern and postmodern art, bitten by obsolescence as in the video game "Pack-man", which represents the loss of memory and the ineffable meaning of art, a sensation that we feel when looking at the masterpieces of art through images, through visual and cognitive stimuli, that sense of bewilderment that we feel in front of an alienating but disturbing object at the same time.
